Tiny Betsy Gets A New Outfit

 Well, I haven't meant to neglect my Tiny Betsy McCall doll, but I have. I just had to make the Betsy from my childhood a new pretty outfit. She deserved it ~ she's very old! I didn't actually own this Betsy but she is just like the one I had as a child, little blond hair and all. There is just something about these little Betsy McCall dolls - look at her little angelic face! I lover her.

 

Now since she is very old, I wanted to make her a fancy outfit and just leave her alone as she is very fragile and I didn't want to break any of her little joints. Her little knees bend, her arms and you can tilt her head to look all coy and all!

I made her a pretty dress with lots of pink lace on the collar, sleeves and hem.

 

 I found this little straw hat and embellished it to match her outfit. Betsy just loved her hat!

I made her some little panties with lace and a lace slip. Now I didn't have any shoes for her so I grabbed some felt and tried my hand at making some felt shoes. They are rather bumpy but they'll do. When you're little and have to wear shoes, you have to have socks! So I made some socks and crocheted the edge. 

Now my little childhood Tiny Betsy is all ready to just sit on the shelf and look sweet!
