As I've told you before, I love making rag dolls! A few years ago I discovered Tilda! Tilda is a tall rag doll with a long neck, long arms, long legs, little head with just eyes and cheeks and a big wide bum! Her legs bend so she can sit and her little knees bend too.
This is my first Tilda! I fell head over heels over these dolls. Ignore the Note Songs 2013, that was my old blog that disappeared.
I didn't have a correct pattern as I was looking at these dolls on Pinterest and found some free patterns so I just went to town trying to make a Tilda.
See, Tildas don't have mouths, that's just the way it is. But they have pretty pink cheeks and little beady eyes.
Now since I really didn't have a clue as to what I was doing, I found some curly twine to make her hair! You're supposed to use yarn, but hey, I had that nice twine!
I still would not give up. I had to try my had at another Tilda.
This is my June Cleaver Tilda. I made her all frilly with her little apron on and of course she is wearing her pearls around her skinny little neck and on her ears!
You can see June Cleaver Tilda's eyes are a little less beady! :)
Now I know June Cleaver didn't wear her hair up, but mine does and it's oh so neat just like June would have had her hair.
I have to leave you with a picture of my June Cleaver Tilda in the kitchen looking so pretty with a pretty dessert she made! You have to love a productive dolly!
Keep Playing!
