A Big Booboo and Hitty Poppy!

Just a warning for you…if you carve make sure your blades are nice and sharp because dull blades make you work too hard and you can see what can happen. I was in a hurry and trying to finish Hitty's little arms and kept carving with a dull blade, it slipped off the wood and stabbed me in my palm! Blood blood blood and lots more blood! I did go get it checked out and they put me on antibiotics but no stitches. The blade went deep but not wide. Be careful my friends. 😢

It's been about a month or so and now I am healing and feeling better. So enough doom and gloom! I thought I would share with you the Hitty I was carving at the time. Yes, I did bandage my boo boo and finished her arms.

Meet Hitty Poppy! I started to name her Vampira since she stabbed me so hard, but she didn’t really do it so for the 4th of July we settled on Hitty Poppy.

She is carved from butternut wood and I always paint my dolls faces, neck and upper chest and just leave the arms and legs. Oh, I do paint on socks and shoes.

I think I'm proud of Hitty Poppy. She seems pretty sweet - for now!
